Mountain Star Quilters

Fall Colors Quilt Retreat
Mountain Star Quilters presents the second Fall Colors Quilt Retreat on October 3 and 4, 2008 in Downieville, CA. A wonderful weekend is planned for participants at the two-day event:
•	A half-dozen teachers on each day will feature a broad choice of classes with techniques for every level of quilter.
•	There will be a continental breakfast on both Friday and Saturday mornings for people taking classes.
•	On Friday night, members of Pine Tree Quilt Guild of Nevada County will perform their one-act play, Road to California, and a trunk show at 7:30 PM.
•	Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock, the winning ticket will be drawn for the MSQ 2008 Opportunity Quilt at the Community Hall. This all batik, queen-sized quilt was pieced and hand-quilted by MSQ members and designed by Joanne Fiorino for Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting, March/April, 2004.
•	Additionally, enjoy a walk around the block, shop for treasures in the local stores, and fall asleep to the sound of the running river.
Teachers for both days of the event are Margaret Boothby, Susie Ernst, Kia Hatch, and Cathy Stone; they are all from Nevada County and both Kia and Cathy taught at our first Retreat in 2006. New to us this year are Kathleen Stanley, from Pine Tree Quilt Guild; Rosalie Pelham, from Reno; Jean Kvam, from Carson City; and JoAn Cochran, from Downieville. For a complete list of the classes and descriptions and a registration form, please download our brochure. There are also links to places to stay, and to directions for driving to Downieville. This is the perfect opportunity for a get-away weekend to this quiet gold rush town in the Tahoe National Forest.
